National indicators: Composite indicators of farmland, woodland, and waterways and wetland birds, seabirds and for wintering waterbirds published annually as official UK Biodiversity and Wildlife statistics by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

England versions of the wild bird indicators are published annually, in the strategy for England’s wildlife and ecosystem services: Biodiversity Indicators: 2015 assessment.

A Scotland version of the terrestrial breeding bird indicator is published annually as the Index of Abundance for Scottish Terrestrial Breeding Birds.
Previously, the Farmland Bird Index was reported and assessed as a Public Service Agreement target.
